Historic Heritage
Originally a turn-of-the-century industrial building, the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown beautifully preserves its historic roots while incorporating modern luxury. Once a bustling factory that produced incandescent light bulbs, the building has been meticulously restored to showcase its architectural grandeur. We entered the lovely lobby, however we were then met with the realization that the restaurant and bar were under construction. We were quite disappointed since they hotel never mentioned that to us when we booked our stay. You would think a 5 star hotel would let you know something as important as that detail.
Accommodations
The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown boasts a range of opulent accommodations that cater to the needs of every guest. The hotel rooms and suites are pitched as thoughtfully designed to offer a serene and comfortable retreat from the vibrant city. However, we were met with less than serene circumstances. Every time Mr. Deets used the restroom the toilet seat dropped extremely loudly on the toilet bowl disrupting the ambiance. The room door also slammed shut each time, it just didn’t add to a positive experience.
The attention to detail was not prominent for a Ritz-Carlton, the remote for our television didn’t work, the outlets on the desk would not hold our charging plugs in snuggly and the phone didn’t work to call the front desk.
Since the restaurant and bar were under construction we opted for room service, beware though service ends at 11pm, which we were quite surprised at. Isn’t Ritz-Carlton supposed to be 24hr service. Not what we expected. And their wine list left much to be desired.

Conclusion
The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, Washington, DC is centrally located, however based on our stay it didn’t live up to the Ritz-Carlton name and we won’t be coming back to stay.
